Ice Hockey Tournaments Without Mandatory Hotels

Upcoming Lodging Choice Verified Ice Hockey tournaments

These upcoming events are verified for their specific edition: participation does not depend on where your team sleeps.

What the badge means for ice hockey families

Stay-to-play requirements are especially common in travel hockey, where tournaments fill hotels in smaller rink towns. Some events still offer optional team hotel blocks or negotiated rates, and those can be a genuinely good deal — the difference is that using them is a choice, not a condition of stepping on the ice. If a tournament requires a housing portal, a room-night minimum, or a buyout fee for staying elsewhere, it does not qualify for this list.

• Qualifies: booking through a designated hotel, housing company, approved hotel list, or required portal is never a condition of playing.
• Qualifies: optional team hotel blocks, preferred hotels, and negotiated rates — as long as using them is genuinely a choice.
• Does not qualify: room-night minimums, lodging buyout fees or penalties, or any participation consequence for staying elsewhere.

Verification applies to the specific tournament edition listed — not to every event run by the same organizer, and not automatically to next year's edition. A past edition's verification doesn't mean the current one qualifies; each event is reviewed on its own.

A No Stay To Play listing is not an endorsement of the tournament organizer. Verification applies only to the lodging policy of the specific event listed.
